Literacy Volunteers of Santa Fe (LVSF) has served the Santa Fe community for twenty-eight years, providing basic literacy instruction for adults and their families. Literacy is essential to improving the quality of life of individuals, promoting economic growth, and building an informed, responsible citizenry in Santa Fe and elsewhere. Since 1985, over 3,822 trained tutors have provided over 436,800 hours of instruction to help more than 11,600 adult students obtain essential skills and reach their fullest potential. This represents volunteer contributions equivalent to over $9.1 million. We offer programs that provide free, quality tutoring in basic literacy and English as a Second Language, financial literacy, health literacy, and numeracy skills. Literacy Volunteers of Santa Fe is the only program in Santa Fe County that provides free literacy tutoring services for adults.
