Asking the Right Questions – for Tutors

Monday, April 14th, 1:30-3:00pm

at SFCC – with Jayme Adelson-Goldstein

Asking questions is an essential skill that enables individuals to think critically, solve problems, and make informed decisions. The Question Formulation Technique (QFT) helps tutors working in 1-1, small group, and classes create a learning environment that encourages adult multilingual learners to ask questions. This technique helps the learner take control of their learning, explore lesson content meaningfully, and increase their confidence and participation in civic life. This highly participatory and lighthearted workshop uses this technique’s divergent, convergent, and metacognitive thinking strategies to help learners improve their questions. Download flier PDF
